We build our cabins on engineered concrete footings or caissons, or for the smaller cabins a gravel pad will work as well.

   The floors are built with treated 4x4 runners to sit on the foundation or gravel pad.  We use 2x6 floor joists 16" on center and top it with ¾" OSB sub-flooring.

   The walls are framed with 2x4's 16" on center with a double top plate.  We then put up primed 30 yr. T 1-11 Dura-Temp siding with bats 16 " on center, or T 1-11 Hem Fir

siding with cedar trim.  Since our walls are 7'4" high, you can place the steel door or vinyl insulated windows in the walls of your choice.

   The roof is built to meet all snow and wind requirements.  The 8-12 pitch trusses (or rafters) are 16" apart, and over the trusses we use 7/16" OSB decking with #15 roofing paper.  We then top it off with 30 yr. dimensional asphalt shingles the color of your choice.

   We use composite decking for the porches.
